Resources for Small Groups
These study courses, created by Catherine, are designed for Christian small groups. They were originally written for a women's group that meets weekly, but would work in many contexts. The intention was to combine content with the opportunity for open discussion.
Based on Margaret Silf's excellent book, Adventuring into Prayer.
Prayer is the centre of the Christian life, the core of our relationship with God. It can also be a challenge. It can be difficult to find time or motivation to fit it into the busyness of life.
This 13 session course is chock full of practical ideas to help you to find ways of connecting with God that will work with the busiest of schedules. Find file here.
There's no getting away from it. The Bible has got a lot more men in it than women. It was written by men, who expected it to be read by men and over the centuries it has been interpreted largely by men. All of which means that, without us even noticing it, we get into the habit of looking at the Bible from a mainly male perspective. Over 12 sessions, this course looks at God and the Bible through female eyes for a change, to see what it might teach us. The Bible is a complex book and it isn't always easy reading. This course doesn't shy away from the awkward bits and at times might leave you with more questions than answers...
